Ecoserv Ltd's highly qualified and experienced scientific staff are local leading experts in studies of marine species, habitats and ecosystems, and routinely use their expertise to study the impacts of coastal and offshore activities on the marine environment. In particular, the company has a solid and long-standing record in monitoring aquaculture activities around the Maltese Islands, and in baseline surveys subsequent (i.e. following scuttling) monitoring of underwater wrecks used as diving attractions. Moreover, the company has extensive experience in carrying out water quality surveys, including monitoring of water quality for Blue Flag Beaches during the bathing season.
Ecoserv Ltd uses state-of-the-art techniques and equipment to carry out marine surveys and monitoring. The specialised techniques used include scientific diving, in situ and remote sampling (e.g. of seawater, sediments and biota), underwater photography and videography, sonar measurements, deployment of in situ meters for collection of physical data (e.g. on temperature, salinity oxygen levels, turbidity and sea currents), sample processing, identification of flora and fauna, statistical analysis and modelling.
